Entrants have a desire to study in the best university which is popular all over the country and which has good reputation in the academic world. The main recommendation for the entrants is to concentrate on those educational institutions which are focused on the chosen major. For example, I was looking for the university, where English is top priority, because I wanted to obtain a degree in the English literature. The second and third variants are the most desirable for students, because these costs do not have to be repaid after graduation. Those students who are interested in the receiving of student scholarships have to pay their attention on some important things.
Usually the deadlines for applying for the scholarship programs are in the beginning of November of current academic year, so the students have to worry about application beforehand. This information is true for thirteen main student scholarships. Besides, there are many candidates which are looking for the financial aid, so those students which will apply earlier, will receive more chances to get the scholarship.
The candidates must also pay their attention on the expiration dates. They are usually strictly determinate, so the students have to begin scholarship search as soon as possible. I often remember those times when I was studying in the college. One of the most impressive moments was undoubtedly the admission process. Usually those entrants whose parents or other members of family were studying in the university have fewer problems with entering, because they know some secrets conserving the successful admission. The most important things which refer to the admission procedure are the search of the scholarship and choosing of the major.
The scholarship helps the student to study in the university and to pay the education. As a contrast to such type of financial aid as student loan the student scholarship must not be returned after graduation. It is so called “free money”.
Here is my story of scholarship searching. I found the department in the school which helps the pupils with the scholarship search. I saw this office many times, but have never interested in the details. First of all the student has to decide if he suits all essential criteria and requirements of the scholarship office. Id it is so, the candidate has to fill in the application form. Then application form must be send to the scholarship office. Within the month the candidate usually receives the approval. I was invited for personal interview with the admission commission. The majority of questions were related to my academic grades, work experience and additional extra – curriculum activities. During the interview the candidate has to concentrate on his achievements and positive features. Even is the candidate has come obstacles, the perseverance and eagerness for studying can help him to become notable among the other candidates.
Because of successful interview I was admitted into university and studied Applied Biology during four years. Besides, I receive a student scholarship which covered all my studying expenses. After graduation I received a grant from the biotechnology company and studied molecular pathology during for years for master’s degree. Than I received one more grant and studying three year the chemical pathology. As a result, I obtained the PhD degree. It proves that all is possible.

There are many students who choose the major without analysis of their wishes and objectives. But there is one huge obstacle of this approach, because the students can waste much time, money and efforts to the major which they really do not like.
The students which are studying any major have to write the coursework. The students can attend the courses which refer to one major, but than change their choice on another major. It is quite natural. Sometimes the students decide to change their major on the major which is not offered by their university. In this case they can transfer their credits to another university and continue the education there.
It is very important to make right choice on the stage of preparation for university. The first step is to form the list of wishes, objectives and the interests of the entrant. Good method of selecting the major is the special professional test, which helps the candidates to discover their talents and interests if they could not do it themselves.
The candidates must take into account that not only academic success plays the role during the admission process. There are many other criteria which can influence on the decision of the admission professionals, such as additional abilities and talents of the candidates (sport, singing) and work experience.
When the students choose their future major, they have to pay attention on the level of salary in the chosen field. Such information can influence essentially on the choice of the candidate.
